Meet Jina Kim, our Children’s Chorus Director!
Jina Kim is a dedicated conductor and educator currently based in North Dallas. She is actively involved in music education within the Plano Independent School District and serves as a co-director of the Plano Children’s Chorus. Mrs. Kim’s journey in music began with a Bachelor’s degree in Music and a Master’s degree in Choral Conducting from San Jose State University. Her professional experience includes working with the Cantabile Youth Chorus in Los Altos, California, where she had the privilege of learning under the direction of Elena Sharkova. Mrs. Kim has conducted performances at various local churches and collaborated with school choirs, contributing significantly to the choral music community. Beyond her role in education, Mrs. Kim is the co-founder of Creative Connections Camp, a program that integrates musical instruments with art at the Plano Art Centre. This initiative reflects her commitment to fostering creativity and artistic expression among children in the community. Outside of her professional endeavors, Mrs. Kim sings as a background vocalist in a praise team at a church, married with two children named Joyce and Benjamin. Both children attend elementary school in Plano, where Mrs. Kim and her family are actively involved in the local community.
